Saturdays on the Sound: Revitalize Soundview Park with Black Forest

Join us at Soundview Park for a morning of tree planting. This event will be in collaboration with Black Forest, a participatory art initiative founded by Brooklyn-based artist, @ekeneijeoma. He is organizing events to record the names and stories of Black lives lost to racial injustices and inequalities and plant trees for them. In the next 8 years, he plans to record over 40,000 stories and plant over 40,000 trees across all 50 states in the US.

This will be the first Black Forest event in NYC. At this event in The Bronx, where our community is disproportionately impacted by asthma, we will plant trees to remember Black Lives and better the environment and health of all communities in the area.

We welcome you to personally dedicate a tree at this event.
