One of the Bronx's oldest parks, Claremont Park has playgrounds, basketball/handball courts, baseball fields and an outdoor pool on its 38.54 acres. Originally part of the Morris family estate, prized for its park-like landscape of meadows, farmland, woods and swamp, Claremont Park became part of the NYC park system through the 1884 New Parks Act. We will meet at the Citi Bike dock on E 157 St & River Ave. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and bring a hat, water bottle, and sunscreen. Snacks and gloves will be provided!
